Soccer Team Wins Fourth Straight
The MSJC women's soccer team won their fourth straight match on Tuesday as they defeated visiting El Camino 2-0 in a non conference contest at Menifee.
The Lady Eagles were able to take an early lead when Gabriella Chaname scored on a penalty kick just 11 minutes into the match. Ryane McDevitt would add to the MSJC lead when she added the team's second goal unassisted just three minutes later. From there the Lady Eagles defense took over earning their fourth shut out of the season. Rebecca Ashmore played the first half in goal for MSJC and had 2 saves. Riley Ludwig played the second half for the Lady Eagles and came up with 5 saves, including one on a penalty kick in the 70th minute to preserve the shut out.
The win improved MSJC's record to 5-1 on the season, they have out scored their opponents 17-5 over their first six matches. The Lady Eagles will begin Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division play next Tuesday when they travel to San Marcos to take on Palomar. The match on the 29th is set to kick off at 3:15.
