Soccer Team Wins Third Straight

The MSJC women's soccer team won their third straight match on Friday as they went on the road and shut out Cuyamaca 3-0 in El Cajon.mckaylacollinsvscuyamaca-16.jpg

The Lady Eagles built a 2-0 lead at halftime on goals from McKayla Collins and Destiny Blythe.  Hanna Kanagawa added another goal in the second half to push the lead to 3-0.  Stefania Navarrete had two assists in the victory while Vanessa Gutierrez added one.

Goal Keepers Riley Ludwig and Elizabeth Barackman split time in goal with each coming up with one save in the match.  The shut out for the Lady Eagles defense was their sixth of the season and third in a row.

The victory improves the Lady Eagles record on the season to 7-4-1 overall while Cuyamaca fell to 2-10.  MSJC will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Imperial Valley in a 3 PM match on the Menifee Campus.
