The MSJC women's soccer team started fast on Friday and never slowed down as they cruised to an easy 7-0 win over Imperial Valley in a home match at Menifee.
Savanna Alcantar got the scoring off to a fast start when she scored a goal in the 9th minute on an assist from Patricia Roach. Kellie Drew would extend the lead for the Lady Eagles to 2-0 with an unassisted goal in the 18th minute. Alcantar scored her second goal of the first half on another assist from Roach just 6 minutes later and by the time Gabriella Chaname scored off a Kim Mata assist in the 33rd minute MSJC was up 4-0.
The Lady Eagles continued to show off their explosive offense in the second half when Dimitra Tsambasis scored in the 51st minute, she was helped by Roach's third assist of the match. Roach would get one more assist on the day as just two minutes later she found Olivia Hernandez for a gaol in the 53rd minute of the match. Mata would add the Lady Eagles final goal in the 75th minute.
Cassidy Constantino started and played the full game in goal for MSJC, recording 4 saves during the shut out. The start in goal was the first of the year for Constantino.
The win pushed the Lady Eagles record to 9-1-3 on the season, they are currently 1-0-1 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division play. IVC a member of the PCAC South dropped to 1-9 overall. MSJC will take on PCAC North Division foe Palomar on Tuesday in Menifee at 3:15.
