Women's Soccer Earns Fifth Shut Out of the Year

The MSJC women's soccer team won 2-0 on Tuesday in a home match against Southwestern on the Menifee Campus.

The Lady Eagles took a 1-0 lead into the half on a goal by Vanessa Gutierrez.  MSJC added a second goal when Stefania Navarrete scored in the second half.  Morgan Schaaf and Destiny Blythe both had an assist in the victory.

Goal Keeper Riley Ludwig had one save as the Lady Eagles won by shut out for the fifth time this season.  MSJC also played Mira Costa to 0-0 tie last week so now have kept teams from scoring against them in six of their matches this year.

Tuesday's victory improved the Lady Eagles overall record to 6-4-1 on the year.  MSJC will be back in action on Friday when they travel to El Cajon to take on Cuyamaca.
