Women's Soccer Ties Miramar on the Road

The MSJC women's soccer team went on the road Friday to take on San Diego Miramar and came away with a 2-2 tie in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division match.ArianaSerratoformiramar1-17.jpg

The Lady Eagles fell behind quickly as Miramar's Dominique Hughes scored a goal just five and a half minutes into the match.  MSJC would come back though to tie it up in the 22nd minute when Ariana Serrato scored on an assist from Tiana Torres.  The Lady Eagles then took the lead in the 33rd minute on an unassisted goal by Heather Furuya. MSJC held the lead 2-1 at the half and then clung to the lead until the 84th minute when the Jets were able to tie it up when Kayla Leitner scored to force the deadlock.  April Sawyer had 3 saves in goal for MSJC.

The Lady Eagles now stand at 1-4-1 overall on the season they are 0-1-1 in PCAC North action.  Miramar is also 0-1-1 in the conference they are now 0-6-1 overall.  MSJC returns home to the Menifee Campus on Tuesday when they host Palomar.  Kick off is set for 3:15.
