Tennis Teams Shine at Fall Event

 Emmanuel Mensah completely dominated the mens singles draw this past weekend at the ITA fall regional. Mensah did not drop a set on his way to repeating as singles champion at the ITA Fall Regional for the second consecutive year. Also competing in the mens singles draw was Gabor Toth who lost a heartbreaking 3 set match in the semi-finals to the current state champion Francisco Stuardo (COD).
Emmanuel and Gabor also teamed up in doubles and won the mens doubles title defeating a very strong team from Glendale Community College (Arizona). Also representing the Eagles this past weekend in the mens singles and doubles draw were the following players...Richard Tetteh, Tyler Park, Loren Beck-Gonzales, James Bragg, Ronnie Burcker, Joel Duenas, Ben Martinez, Brian Bosquet, Jonathan Wicks and Damen Ellingson.
Amal Ben El Hadj, representing the Eagles in the womens singles draw also dominated her opponents this past weekend, capturing the womens singles title without losing a set. She also teamed up with Nicole Lessley in the womens doubles draw to capture the womens doubles title in a very hard fought 3 set final against a tough doubles team from Orange Coast College.
All four players have qaulified for the ITA National Small College Tournament the weekend of Oct. 17th in Mobile, Alabama. This past weekend was an incredible tournament for the eagles and and awesome representation for the MSJC Tennis program! Huge Congratulations goes out to Emmanuel, Gabor, Amal and Nicole.
