Textbook Rental Agreement
Textbook Rental Program allows ONLY currently enrolled Mt San Jacinto College
Students (with a valid student ID card) the opportunity to rent SELECTED
textbooks for the duration of a ONE eligible school session.
IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE TEXBOOK RENTAL PROGRAM STUDENTS MUST ALSO MEET
AND AGREE TO ALL OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
1.) I am at least 18 years of age.
2.) I am entering this Textbook Rental Agreement ("Agreement") with
MSJC Bookstore of my own free will.
3.) I understand and accept the responsibility that at the end of the current
semester, it is my responsibility to return the books rented under this program
or pay the replacement price (as stated below) of the books in my possession.
Payments can be made with MasterCard, Visa and Discover Card.
4.) I will not exceed the purchasing limit nor will I cancel the credit or
debit card used until all the rented materials are either returned to MSJC
Bookstore or the non-return fees are paid
5.) I understand that the book rented by me is the property of Mt. San Jacinto
College Bookstore and in accepting the terms of this book rental program, I
accept the responsibility to use the book and return it to Mt. San Jacinto
College Bookstore in an acceptable condition. Intolerable conditions include
damages incurred to the rented material caused by liquid (rain, snow, coffee,
juice, water, etc.), fire (scorched), chemical spills, tooth marks (rodents,
pets, children, etc.), missing components or parts of the rented materials, and
6.) I understand and authorize MSJC, Student Services to place my student
records on hold if the book is not returned by May 30, 2017. Once a hold is
placed it may take up to 48 hours to be released. In addition, if my book is
not returned by the deadline of May 30, 2017. I will not be eligible for this
program the following semester and I will be charged the replacement fee.
7.) I understand that my rental fee is refundable only if the book is returned
within FIVE (5) business days from the class's start date (proof of enrollment

(Menifee Valley Bookstore or San Jacinto Campus Bookstore.) MSJC Bookstore is
not responsible for reminding me of the rental return date. MSJC Bookstore is
not responsible for returns shipped to the store via any carrier. I have read
and fully understand the provisions and the terms of this agreement as outlined
and I agree to adhere to all conditions and terms as stated.
This site was designed so that you may
order your textbooks or obtain text information for classes taught by Mt. San

your credit card may be adjusted based on inventory quantities of new and used
books at the time your order is processed. Visit us again after you have
placed your order to view your order history. You can even choose to pick up
your order in the store at no additional cost.
At this time, we are not able to offer SGA discounts on any online orders. Be
aware that the site will be updated as we receive new orders from faculty and
shipments from publishers. Please note that because text information can change
at any time (faculty changes, publisher upgrades, cancelled & added
classes, etc.) we are not responsible for information used from this site for
the purchase of texts from other locations. Students purchasing materials on
this site are protected under our Returns Polices.
Used Versus New: When selecting the type of book that you will want to please
note that if you select USED when you buy your text, and if there are no used
texts available when we pull your order, we will substitute a NEW book at the
NEW price. This is also the same if you select NEW and there are none
available, we will substitute a USED book at the USED price. This means that
your final charges may be different than what was originally quoted.
Orders are processed and shipped in the order in which they are received.
Please allow for up to a 36 hour processing time. We will do our best to
process your order within 1 business day, but please note that during rush (the
first week of the semester) additional time may be needed. Fed-Ex shipments: It
is not necessary for local area residents to select next day or 2nd day
shipping; most orders will reach you in 2 days with ground shipping. If we are
out of stock on an item you order, we will contact you in regards to your
order. You will receive a confirmation email once your order has been processed
and ready for shipment.
In Store-Pickup: Orders are processed in which they are received. Please allow
for up to a 36 hour processing time. We will do our best to process your order
within one (1) business day, but please note that during rush (the first week
of the semester) additional time may be needed.
Local Fedex home delivery If you are delivering to the Inland Empire there is no need
to use FedEx Express shipping, FedEx Ground and
FedEx Express will arrive at the same time. You will receive your order in
3-7 days. Signatures are not required for Fedex Ground shipments, so the driver
will leave the package if you are not at home. If you want to specify a
location for the package to be left, please add this under "Special
In-Store Pickup is free of charge. You will know your order is ready when you
receive a "Processing Completed" email and Call from the bookstore.
Bring your photo ID and web order number to the MSJC Bookstore. You can also
check your order status by logging into your account on this website. Check
current store hours on this site or call one of our stores San
Jacinto Campus (951) 487-3130 and Menifee Valley Campus (951) 639-5130.
Online Order Cancellations: Once an online order is processed for shipping you cannot cancel
the order. You will be permitted to return the books under our RETURN POLICY,
however all online orders carry a 20% restocking fee. Mt. San Jacinto College
Bookstore emails may get blocked as spam. To ensure you receive your order
emails, please open your filter for the address firstname.lastname@example.org.
Jacinto Campus, Menifee Valley Campus, and Online Sales
1.) SAVE THE RECEIPT! It
is required for all refunds and exchanges
2.) NO RECEIPT, MEANS NO
REFUND OR EXCHANGE, NO EXCEPTIONS!
3.) Refunds for books
purchased for the regular session, FasTrac or 8-week classes are available
through FIVE (5) BUSINESS DAYS FROM THE CLASS’S START DATE. An additional 5.)
days is available with proof of disenrollment (drop). Registration information
and statement may be required. Books purchased more than 10 days after the
official start of class date are not returnable for any reason.
4.) DO NOT MARK, DAMAGE,
OR WRITE IN YOUR BOOKS. Books must be returned in original condition.
textbooks/course books/syllabi which have been opened are NON-RETURNABLE.
(Exceptions may be made on the return – but it will be on a case by case

GUARANTEED. It is the student’s responsibility for the condition of the book
purchased. Books should be check carefully before exiting the store. New books
with manufacturer’s defects will be replaced when presented with the original

DEADLINE, books purchase as NEW that are damaged or soiled may be refunded at
the USED price, since they cannot be returned to the publisher as a new book.
After that date, only the current wholesaler price, if any, will be offered for

textbooks purchases are subject to the same stipulations as in store sales and
must be brought to the store by the refund dead as stated above. Books that
were purchased by mail may be shipped at the owner’s expired if NOT post-marked
by the REFUND DEADLINE. New books with manufacturer’s defects or damaged in
transit will be exchanged at the bookstore’s expense.
10.) General merchandise
purchased through the internet/mail or store purchase are NOT returnable unless
defective or damaged in shipping. (Exceptions may be made to this rule – but it
will be considered on a case by case basis.)
