Public Notice: Mt. San Jacinto College Accreditation Site  Visit 

March 7, 2018

This Notice has been developed to advise the public, consistent with the policies of the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) for public disclosure, that evaluation teams from the ACCJC will visit the Mt. San Jacinto Community College District during the period from March 12- 15, 2018 for the purpose of a comprehensive evaluation visit to determine if the district is eligible for renewal of its current ACCJC accreditation.

Accreditation by the ACCJC certifies that a college has been found to meet rigorous requirements. The ACCJC’s Eligibility Requirements & Standards can be found on the ACCJC website at www.accjc.org. The ACCJC reviews the overall quality of each institution every seven years.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that any member of the public may attend forums with the ACCJC team on the Menifee Valley and San Jacinto Campuses. Dates, times and specific locations for the forums will be posted at msjc.edu/accreditation. Any member of the public may also submit written comments regarding the Mt. San Jacinto Community College District’s accreditation status to Rebecca Teague, Accreditation Liaison Officer, Mt. San Jacinto College, 1499 N. State St., San Jacinto, CA 92583, or by email rteague@msjc.edu. Written comments may also be submitted for the college district by completing a third party comment form found on the ACCJC website. Public comments will be accepted through 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2018.

MSJC Accreditation

Mt. San Jacinto College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, (10 Commercial Blvd. - Suite 204, Novato, CA 94949, (415) 506-0234; fax: (415) 506-0238, www.accjc.org), a regional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Association and the U. S. Department of Education, Board of Registered Nursing and the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technician Examiners. The college has been approved for training of veterans under the various United States public laws and California veteran enactments; the Bureau of Immigration and various United States public laws and California veteran enactment. The Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services has approved Mt. San Jacinto College for international students under educational visas. Mt. San Jacinto College is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant students.

Programmatic Accreditations

Mt. San Jacinto College has career technical education programs that undergo external evaluation and are accredited by industry-specific agencies. Each program is noted below, along with the associated accrediting body’s name and contact information.

Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program

The ADN program is accredited by the State of California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN), a division of the California Department of Consumer Affairs and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc.

Complaint Process:

Students and members of the public who desire to file a formal complaint to the Commission about Mt. San Jacinto Community College District should become familiar with the requirements for doing so prior to contacting the Commission.
