January 20, 2017
Are you interested in publishing your writing or visual art? If so, then consider submitting your work to Flight, Mt. San Jacinto College's anthology of student creative writing and visual art. Flight will be published in May 2017, and the Flight staff is seeking student submissions of poetry, prose fiction, creative non-fiction, artwork, and photography. Here are guidelines:
Poetry: submit two or three poems, maximum length 40 lines per poem.
Prose fiction (short stories) and creative non-fiction (personal essays): submit one or two pieces, maximum length of 1250 words.
Visual art (paintings, drawings, photography): submit two or three pieces.
All written work should be typed. Please keep the presentation simple and clean—no ornate/exotic fonts, no background visuals. Written material should be submitted electronically, included as an attachment to an e-mail.
Visual art can be submitted either electronically (also preferred, and once again as an attachment to an e-mail) or in hard-copy format. Electronic submissions should be presented at no less than 300 dpi resolution. Hard-copy submissions will need to be presented in person to Richard Sisk, Flight advisor, at the San Jacinto Campus.
The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2017. Please send your electronic submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org along with your name, e-mail address, and a phone number.
Hard-copy visual submissions can be delivered in person to Mr. Sisk’s office, room 322A, in the San Jacinto Campus library. E-mail or call ahead for office hours.
For additional information contact Mr.Sisk by e-mail at email@example.com or by phone at (951) 487-3646.
