Gilman Springs Road Closure Starts in November

Per the County of Riverside Transportation Department: 

Complete Road Closure of Gilman Springs between SR 79 and Soboba Road Starts November 7*

Safety improvements along one segment of Gilman Springs Rd. will begin on Nov. 7, 2016 and last approximately 30 days, causing a complete road closure between SR 79 and Soboba Rd.

The proposed improvements will include the following:

  • Realignment of vertical and horizontal curves
  • Reconstruction of existing road
  • Widening and paving of shoulders
  • Installation of guardrail, asphalt concrete dike
  • Drainage improvements
  • Installation of edge line rumble strips and centerline rumble strips
  • All American Asphalt was awarded a contract in the amount of $1,622,671
  • Complete road closure on Gilman Springs between SR 79 and Soboba Road
  • Tree removal, construction preparation and staging will begin on October 31, 2016*
  • 30 Day Road Closure Begins November 7, 2016*  (SUBJECT TO WEATHER CONDITIONS)

Gilman Springs Road Traffic Signal Project at Soboba Road

Additionally, a new traffic signal will be constructed at the intersection of Gilman Springs Road/State Street and Soboba Road.   Project construction will include installing traffic signal poles and equipment, concrete curb ramps, sidewalk, curb & gutter, under-sidewalk drain, AC over-side drain, extending existing culvert, grading/backfilling parkway, driveway reconstruction, guardrail replacement, miscellaneous pavement rehabilitation, and signing/striping modifications. Roadway repairs from State Route 79 to 200 feet northwesterly of Sublette Road.

Construction Schedules shall run concurrently: 45 calendar days (30 Day Road Closure Begins November 7, 2016*)
