Donations will receive a 50 percent match as part of the statewide fundraising effort Hands Across California
Mt. San Jacinto College students and the MSJC Foundation are seeking donations to help raise scholarship funds for MSJC students as part of Hands Across California, a statewide fundraising effort to benefit community college students.
Members of the MSJC Student Government Association, Mentor Program, and others will gather on April 17 with MSJC Foundation and college administrators to literally join hands with other community college students and form a human chain across the state as part of the event.
Hands Across California is organized by the Foundation for California Community Colleges. This unprecedented fundraiser aims to benefit our community colleges and their students by creating a permanent scholarship fund for students in generations to come.
Money donated directly to the MSJC donation page will receive a 50 percent match from The Bernard Osher Foundation. The MSJC Foundation and students are seeking donors to log on to the web site and pledge now.
“We hope residents in our communities support MSJC students by making donations during the Hands Across California fundraising effort,” said Ana Moreno, MSJC’s Student Government Association President. “The 50 percent match from the Osher Foundation means MSJC students can receive more scholarship funds and enable them to continue with higher education.”
With support from people like L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, actors George Lopez and Mark Harmon and others, Hands Across California will bring attention to the needs of students and the nation’s largest system of higher education. Need More Info? Contact: the MSJC Foundation at 951-487-3171
