Mt. San Jacinto College’s American Sign Language Department Hosts:
Sip, Sign and Painting Party with Guest, Nancy Rourke

Saturday, March 19
4:30 – 8:30 pm
Menifee Valley Campus, Rooms 656 and 659
28237 La Piedra Rd., Menifee, 92584

The MSJC American Sign Language Department will host: Sip, Sign and Painting Party with guest Nancy Rourke, to educate about De'VIA (Deaf View Image Arts) and the history of Deaf arts. De’VIA is art about the Deaf experience and was established 25 years ago. Many of us have met Deaf folks who remark after learning about Deaf View / Image Art De’VIA. Deaf and Deaf-blind people readily identify with visual and tactile art about the Deaf experience. De’VIA affirms their sense of Deafhood while it gives visual testimony to the discrimination that Deaf People experience – making the invisible visible. Nancy Rourke will offer her skills and expertise at this event as she shares her own story as a Deaf artist while also providing a painting lesson to attendees.

This event costs $50 to attend and is open to the public.
