MSJC Big Bands Concert

The Great American Songbook will be in the spotlight when the MSJC Big Bands under the direction of Bob Waner present their show titled "Tin Pan Alley". The concert on May 18th at 2 pm, is a songwriter's hall of fame featuring the music of Rodgers and Hart, Jimmy Van Huesen, Jerome Kern and many others. 
Vocalist in the program will be superb song stylist Linda Greilich from Golden Era Productions. In addition, soloists from the bands include Bill Saulnier playing "Lover Man", originally written for the jazz singer Billie Holiday, bassist Eugene Jaceldo playing a tune dedicated to the great Paul Chambers, John Wall on alto sax playing "Lush-A-Bye", and Bruce Gifford on tenor sax playing two of his own arrangements, "Old Man River", and "Come Back To Sorrento".
Also in the show will be the college Trombone Choir, called The Bone Zone. This versatile group performs a variety of musical styles from classics to jazz and has provided entertainment for organizations throughout the community.
The matinee concert will be at the San Jacinto Campus Theater, 1499 N State St., San Jacinto. Ticket prices are $6 general admission, $5 seniors, $4 students, and under 18 are admitted free.
