MSJC Dance student needs your support by May 25

Kiara Griffin, a dance student at MSJC, has received a full tuition scholarship to the six-week school at American Dance Festival (ADF) from June 6 – July 11.  But she can’t attend without your help. While the tuition pays for her studies, it does not pay for the required $900 meal plan so she can eat and a required $250 insurance policy.
We need you to join the faculty and administrators who have already started to pool funds to allow Kiara to take advantage of this amazing learning opportunity.
Please contact Kristi DiMemmo in the Foundation at 951-487-3170 or to help.  Donations must be made by May 25 (next Wednesday).
The Mt. San Jacinto College Foundation is accepting donations to the scholarship for Kiara Griffin. All donations are tax deductible, and we truly appreciate your generosity. You can donate directly to the Mt. San Jacinto College Foundation on behalf of Kiara by visiting and clicking on “Donate Online Now” and selecting “MSJC General Scholarship Fund.” Once you’ve made a donation, please send an email to Kristi Di Memmo to confirm that your donation is attributed towards Kiara’s scholarship.
If we get the funding together, here’s what Kiara will get to do: She will study with the best in the field and experience some of the most proclaimed national and international dance artists’ work- including: Paul Taylor Dance Company (US),Rosas - Anne Teresa De Keersamaeker (Belgium) Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company (US) Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (US) TAO Dance Theater (China) Pilobolus (US) Eiko & Koma (US) Emanuel Gat Dance (France) Doug Varone and Dancers (US) Shen Wei Dance Arts (US).
Kiara will live in the dormitories at Duke University in Durham, NC - the home of ADF for the last 36 years.  Educational experiences like this one are truly once in a lifetime opportunities, that can influence a student's success in profoundly positive and unforgettable ways.
“This is an incredible opportunity for Kiara, and we are honored that she, as an MSJC student, was chosen to participate,” says Carlos Lopez, Dean of Instruction at the San Jacinto Campus.
The scholarship paid for Kiara's tuition ($2,000) and housing ($1,300).  But it didn’t pay for her flight or the food and insurance she needs. Several faculty and administrators already pooled enough money for the flight, but we still need help for food and insurance.
Without finding additional sources of support by May 25th, Kiara will not be able to take advantage of the $3000 + scholarship that she has received - it will all go back to ADF.
Thank you for your generosity as we provide as many opportunities as possible to promote student success!
