May 1, 2014
Mt. San Jacinto College plans to re-open the San Jacinto Campus on Friday, May 2, 2014. The National Weather Service expects the winds to be calmer and we do not anticipate the breezy conditions predicted for tomorrow to pose safety concerns.
The San Jacinto Campus closes at noon on Fridays. If you are planning to attend the Student Success Summit on SJC, it will run until 4 p.m.
The San Gorgonio Pass Campus is routinely closed on Fridays and is expected to re-open on Monday, May 5, 2014.
During the severe wind storm, MSJC cancelled classes and closed the San Jacinto Campus on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. The San Jacinto and San Gorgonio Pass campuses were both closed on Thursday, May 1, 2014. MSJC took these steps to ensure safety of students and visitors. MSJC’s Menifee and Temecula locations were not affected.
While we expect the San Jacinto Campus will be open on Friday, MSJC urges students, employees and members of the public to check and the college Facebook page at on Friday, May 2, 2014 prior to heading to San Jacinto to make sure there is no new information about weather and related issues that may warrant a closure.
MSJC officials will continue to monitor weather and safety conditions. If conditions call for another closure of the campus, MSJC Alert text messages and e-mails will be sent to those who have provided updated information via Eagle Advisor. Information will be posted on the college web site and Facebook page as soon as information comes available.
Remember, the regular Friday hours for the college is 8 a.m. to noon.
