Updated August 10, 2018

Mt. San Jacinto College is seeking applicants interested in filling a seat on the board through Dec. 13, 2018. The seat in Trustee Area 3 was left vacant after Bill Zimmerman resigned to serve as mayor for the city of Menifee. The board decided at its meeting on Aug. 9, 2018 to fill the vacancy by temporary appointment to cover the remainder of Mr. Zimmerman’s term, which ends on Dec. 13. The seat is up for election on Nov. 6 and the filing period ends at 5 p.m. on Aug. 10. The candidate elected for the post will be sworn in on Dec. 13.

The college will post information about the provisional appointment on the front page of the college web site www.msjc.edu on Aug. 13, 2018. To qualify, applicants must live in Trustee Area 3, which covers the city of Menifee and portions of Hemet. Those interested in the provisional appointment may contact the Riverside County Registrar of Voters at 951-486-7200 or visit www.voteinfo.net/ to confirm residency or may call the district on Monday, Aug. 13, at 951-487-3002.
