Former Superbowl athlete to motivate MSJC students

GPlummer.JPGMotivational speaker, Gary Plummer, a community college athlete who went on to win a super bowl, shares all the obstacles he had to overcome along the way, on Monday, Nov. 7th from 1-3pm, in room 927 on the Menifee Valley Campus of Mt. San Jacinto College, 28237 La Piedra Road, Menifee, CA 92584.
Gary Lee Plummer was born and raised in Fremont, California. He was a college walk-on at U.C. Berkeley, graduating with a degree in Nutrition.
  • 1983-1985 All time leading tackler for the Oakland Invaders of the U.S.F.L.
  • Undrafted free agent for the San Diego Chargers accumulating over 800 tackles from 1986 to 1993
  • Selected by Muscle & Fitness Magazine to the NFL’s most fit athletes 5 years in a row
  • Played for the San Francisco 49ers from 1994 to 1997 where he earned a Super Bowl ring in Super Bowl XXIX
  • Gary was one of the defensive captains for the number one defense in the NFL in 1995 and 1997
  • The 49ers reached the playoffs all four of his years on the team including two NFC Championship games
For the past 13 years Gary has been working as a color analyst for the San Francisco 49ers.
He has resided in San Diego since 1988 in the community of Scripps Ranch and has four children Grant (25) Garrett (23) Kristina (21) and Kaleigh (19).
