MSJC student wins first place in College Seen Photo Contest
A Mt. San Jacinto College Student was named first-place winner in the Sustainability in Action category of the statewide 2012 College Seen photo competition.
Dana McDevitt, a student of MSJC Photography Department Chair Keith Hanz, captured sustainability with a beautiful black-and-white photo of bicyclists. Last year, MSJC student Aileen Luib won the top spot in the Portrait and Personality category for the 2011 College Seen contest.
“Dana McDevitt is a true success story in the MSJC Photography program,” Hanz said. “She is a very talented young woman and mom. Her timidity about advancing through our program belies her incredible success. She produces truly excellent and creative photography. She has won our Pixel River competition several times and has now competed in the College Seen state-wide competition, earning the First Prize in the ‘Sustainability in Action’ category. Dana describes a career in photography as a passion. She possesses the creative acumen and requisite tenacity to succeed. It will be very rewarding to watch her succeed and to see her future work.”
