The Jan. 27 meeting is open to the public
The next quarterly meeting of the Mt. San Jacinto College Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee will be held on Jan. 27 at the San Gorgonio Pass Campus.
The committee oversees the expenditure of Measure AA, the $295 million facilities bond approved by voters in 2014. The committee will discuss year-to-date bond expenditures; the status of MSJC board-approved Measure AA projects; updates of the ongoing environmental studies required by the California Environmental Quality Act and the Division of the State Architect; and the enrollment trends driving MSJC’s long-range Facilities Master Plan.
The meeting will also include a tour of the Pass campus. MSJC Superintendent/President Dr. Roger Schultz will be at the meeting.
The nine-member committee is required under Prop. 39. The MSJC Board of Trustees appointed two citizens more than what is required to ensure diverse representation from all parts of the 1,700-square-mile district. Currently led by Chairman Bob Botts, the general duties of the committee are to keep the public informed of bond expenditures, review the expenditures and to produce and annual report.
The meeting, open to the public, will be held at 4 p.m. at the campus located at 3144 West Westward Avenue Banning, CA 92220. For more information, visit www.msjc.edu/MeasureAA
