Unity Breakfast draws 100 and MLK art contest winner

MSJC student Alfredo Vieyra won first place and a $150 gift certificate to the MSJC Bookstore on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 for the artwork he submitted as part of the MLK Day Unity Breakfast art contest. The 8th annual Unity Breakfast, hosted by the MSJC Diversity Committee, was held in the library on the San Jacinto Campus and drew about 100 people. The event included presentations by MSJC Professor Willie Hamilton, Professors Eileen Doktorski and Millie Baez and Tamara Smith, Pastor Charles Hentley of the Reconciliation Christian Assembly, Dr. Woodie Rucker Hughes of the Riverside NAACP and gospel music sung by the Reconciliation Christian Assembly choir.
