2016 STEM Summer Institute

Event Details

The STEM Program will be hosting its annual STEM Summer Institute this summer, May 31 - June 2, 2016 at the Menifee Valley Campus. The STEM Summer Institute provides any existing MSJC STEM students, 11th and 12th graders from local high schools, and entering MSJC first-year students an opportunity to explore STEM disciplines and careers through hands-on activities and lectures.  

This event is FREE , but you must register to attend.

Our program will have 5 different tracks to choose from. Each student will sign up for the track of his or her choice and have the opportunity to get hands-on experience. All tracks are two-day sessions and you must attend both days associated with each track.

  • 4:30—5:00 pm Check-In (800 Building, foyer of LRC)
  • 5:00—5:45 pm Student & Parent Dinner - Room 805 (Parents or Spouses only are welcomed due to limited space)
  • 5:45—7:00 pm Student Speakers
  • 7:00—8:00 pm Keynote Speaker: Geoff Notkin (Room 927)
  • 8:00—8:30 pm Closing

  • 9:00—10:15 am Speaker: Brittany Miller, Graduate Student at University of Redlands (Room 927)
  • 10:30—2:30 pm Activity Breakout Sessions
