Career Planning

Counseling offers career services to assist first-time career seekers and career changers with successful career and life choices. Careful thought and planning should go into effective career decision-making. College counselors are available on all MSJC campuses to help in this process.

A variety of career assessment inventories may be recommended for increasing your self-awareness. These may include a comprehensive evaluation of your interests, values, abilities, personality preferences, and work experience. The knowledge you gain is useful for selecting a program of study and a compatible career. Trained counselors are available to interpret the career assessment inventories.

The Career Resource Library has over 1,500 books, directories, materials, school catalogs, and newsletters for researching occupations and educational opportunities as well as computer-based programs. Included are over 300 audio and videocassettes for personal growth and development.
