Study Abroad Program

Salamanca, Spain

MSJC students have the unique opportunity to study in Europe! We are offering a study abroad program in LONDON every FALL semester and SPAIN every SPRING semester!

MSJC is a member in the Southern Foothills Consortium for Study Abroad which is a cooperative venture among 14 California Community Colleges with Citrus College being the “lead” college. This study abroad partnership allows students to make normal progress toward their undergraduate degrees and transfer requirements while utilizing foreign resources and cross-cultural experiences. The Fall semester length program in London and Spring semester in Seville, Spain require students to be enrolled in 12 units of college credit. All courses offered are CSU/UC transferable and meet General Education requirements. For those students interested in studying in Spain, there is NO previous Spanish language requirement.

The American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS), founded in 1964, works very closely with the Consortium to provide excellent support services for our students. This support includes classroom facilities, housing, insurance, local transportation, advising, special cultural and social events and student and faculty support. With AIFS coordinating these outstanding logistical and personal services, students and faculty are free to pursue academic endeavors without concern for the complex and time-consuming practical arrangements a successful study abroad program demands. London Informational Meetings and Spain Informational Meetings will be offered each semester with the MSJC Study Abroad Coordinator and AIFS representative/Citrus College Coordinator.

Eligibility to participate in the MSJC study abroad program requires a cumulative GPA of 2.5 in 12 units of college – level coursework at an accredited college. If you are a first semester MSJC student, we can accept progress reports from your instructors to determine your eligibility.
