Chef Volker J. Lutz
At the age of 17, Chef Volker J. Lutz embarked on his culinary journey, starting his
apprenticeship as a Chef. His passion for food and cooking led him to the United States,
where a fellow landsman hired him to work in a small catering business. In August
of 1994, he and his wife Debbie seized the opportunity to buy the European Deli in
Temecula. In 1997, they expanded the business to a more prominent location, now home
to Eat Marketplace. In 2005, Volker and Debbie's culinary adventures took them to
various parts of the world, furthering their knowledge of food and wine. Upon their
return, they decided to start Vineyard Gourmet Catering. This venture allowed them
to create all types of cuisine for a diverse range of events, from private intimate
dinner parties to extravagant corporate celebrations and weddings.

With Chef Volker at the helm of the European Cafe and then Vineyard Gourmet Catering,
he served the Temecula Valley Wine Country for 30 years, always supporting the local
                     community and charities.

Chef Volker strived to share and teach his knowledge to the next generation of chefs
interested in improving their culinary skills.
