Raza Grad Frequently Asked Questions

The Raza Graduation aims to celebrate and honor OUR culture and history. Celebrating the accomplishments of all of YOU, in a culturally-rich celebration to embrace tradition, and provide representation for our Latinx & Indigenous students and your loved ones as you move on to be empowered agents for social change in your lives, in your families and in your communities. The ceremony is also to celebrate your loved ones that supported you throughout your educational and personal goals. 

Yes, at the San Jacinto Campus

Yes, in the quad of the San Jacinto Campus.

No, parking is free.

Please complete the Eventbrite registration, once our counselors confirm you have completed your requirements we will send you an email to confirm your participation. 

Cap and gown are optional but highly recommended. We will have photo opportunities for you! 

You will be receiving a graduation stole, certificate and pin. Keep in mind that in order to have your name in the program you need to register by April 22, 2022. 

The majority of the ceremony will be in English with part of the ceremony in Spanish or bilingual. There will be entertainment in Spanish. 

No, but people should feel free to wear masks, if they choose to.

Yes. Raza Graduation is a separate event that complements the colleges Commencement. Please be advised participation is limited for the Raza Graduation. 

Students are welcome to participate in both of them! It’s up to you and how you’d like to celebrate YOUR accomplishment! 

Everyone will be allotted 2 guests, in order to continue our safety measures.

No additional friends/family are available as we want to make sure we continue to keep our MSJC community safe. 

There is no cost to participate in the Raza graduation. 

Yes, seating is limited. Graduates must register to attend.
