Judy Nathan Macdonald

My name is Judy Nathan Macdonald. I have been teaching at MSJC for several years. I have taught at other colleges but I love teaching at MSJC.  I am currently teaching three sections of BADM 104 BADM 104.  Two sections are face to face and one is on line.  I teach on Mondays and will be on campus from 8-11 a.m. and 2-5 p.m. I look forward to this semester. It promises to be one of meeting new students, learning from the classroom and online experience and exploring business and communication concepts and principles.

My primary employment was with State Compensation Insurance Fund, where I worked for over 30 years.  I retired as a Regional Vice President for Southern California.  I worked both at the corporate and regional level.  I started my career as a sales representative.  I then worked as a management analyst, claims adjuster, claims supervisor, claims manager, district manager, policy service manager and finally as a regional vice president.  So you can see I worked my way up the corporate ladder.  I also worked on several corporate training and organizational projects.  I worked in both Northern and Southern California and spent a great deal of time in Sacramento working on various reorganization and management projects.  State Fund was a good employer for me.  It afforded me with many opportunities and some great educational experiences.

I am a product of the junior college system so I know what my student's are experiencing.   I went to Los Angeles Valley College, Los Angeles City College and Pasadena City College.  I got my bachelor's degree from California State University in Los Angeles.  My degree was in Business Administration.  I got my master's degree from University of Phoenix. That degree was in Organizational Management.

As indicated above, I have lived and worked in various parts of California.  Most of my life has been spent in Southern California.  Murrieta has been my home for about 23 years now.

I have two grown children.  My daughter, Amanda is a kindergarten teacher in Temecula.  My son, Chris is a landscape contractor in Northern California.

Seven years ago I married a wonderful man, Scott Macdonald.  We enjoy many fun times together.  . We love to travel, garden, ride on Scott's motorcycle, read and just hang out.  In 2010 we went to Hawaii and here is a picture of us after our first helicopter ride.  It was great!  In November of 2011, we went on a cruise to Italy, Israel, Turkey, Cyprus and Egypt.  We had such a good time.

Two summers ago we traveled in Arizona, Colorado, Utah and Nevada.  We visited many good friends and also visited the Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Zion, Bryce Canyon and Las Vegas.

Last summer we took a cruise to Alaska. We went with my two children, my husband's son, my son-in-law, his brother, my two best friends, and our motor cycle buddies. It was such a wonderful adventure for all of us.

Last Christmas we went to the Southern Carribean and this Christmas we will be going to French Polynesia where we will go to Tahiti, Bora Bora and the Society Islands.

So, you can see that besides teaching at MSJC, I do have a life.  I look forward to meeting new people and hope this website will help you see who I am.
