Brittany Renard

Bio:

Assistant Professor of English
San Jacinto Campus | Building 300 | LRC - Room 313

San Jacinto Campus Senator - MSJC Academic Senate

M.A. in English, University of California, Riverside, 2013
B.A. in English, Summa Cum Laude with Honors, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, 2011

Brittany was born to teen parents in rural South Louisiana, graduating from a small, local public school before attending UL Lafayette as a first-generation college student. After earning her B.A. in English, she moved to Southern California to begin her graduate work at UC Riverside, where she studied early modern English literature and performance, gender and sexuality, and material culture.  She returned to South Louisiana for a few years to work in Student Affairs leadership at South Louisiana Community College, but SoCal and full-time teaching eventually called her back home!

Now settled in San Jacinto with her husband and kid, Brittany is an Assistant Professor of English at MSJC and serves on the Curriculum Committee and Academic Senate.  She teaches composition classes and literature classes, including ENGL-C1000, ENGL-C1001, LIT-230 and LIT-231, in-person, hybrid, and online.
