MSJC Invites the Community to Enjoy Performances and Holiday Events

Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) is excited to invite the community for a variety of events this month, some with holiday themes and others to showcase the work of our students and faculty. To see all the college’s upcoming events, please visit calendar.msjc.edu.  

MSJC’s Dance Department proudly presents "Fusion," a student and faculty dance concert, from December 2 to 4 in the San Jacinto Campus Theater. The performance features original choreographies that were created by MSJC students, faculty, and our special guest artist, Ron Brown – a former Alvin Ailey dancer. "Fusion" will be held at 7:30 PM on December 2 and 3, and at 2:30 PM on December 4 in the San Jacinto Campus Theater, 1499 N. State St., San Jacinto. MSJC’s Performing Arts Department is delighted to present the Menifee Campus Singers on Friday, December 2 at 7 PM This dynamic performance features music from a wide variety of sources including standard choral music and fresh arrangements of seasonal and popular songs. On Saturday, December 3, from 4 PM to 9 PM, MSJC is proud once again to sponsor the City of Menifee's annual Tree Lighting Festival at the Menifee Valley Campus. This event will feature activities for the whole family, including a community parade, food and craft vendors, a Snow Zone, and pictures with Santa. MSJC's Ujima Association presents a Kwanzaa Celebration on Thursday, December 8, from 5:15 PM to 7:30 PM, in the San Jacinto Campus Theater. The event will include live music, dance, and soul food. MSJC is excited to offer two opportunities to attend jazz concerts this month. On Thursday, December 8, the Menifee Jazz Ensemble will perform a high-energy blend of contemporary and standard big band sounds in the Menifee Valley Campus Lab Theater at 6 PM On Saturday, December 17, MSJC will host the Golden Eagles Jazz Ensemble Swingin' Fall Concert at 12 PM in the San Jacinto Campus Theater. The concert will be full of big band music with pieces by Pat Metheny, Sammy Nestico, Duke Ellington, and much more. A special free holiday concert, performed by the Valley Winds Concert Band, will take place Friday, December 9, at 6:30 PM, at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 27931 Murrieta Rd, Menifee. The band, which consists of MSJC’s non-credit continuing education participants, will be performing holiday favorites that will be sure to put everyone in the holiday spirit. MSJC’s Orchestra proudly presents the 50th anniversary concert featuring guest artist Daniel del Pino, holiday music and a 50th anniversary surprise. The concert will take place Sunday, December 11, at 3 PM, in the San Jacinto Campus Theater, 1499 N. State St., San Jacinto. On Christmas day, December 25, MSJC is honored to offer its Temecula Valley Campus as the Temecula Sunrise, Temecula Noon, Temecula New Gens, and Old Town Temecula Rotary clubs join together to host the 28th Annual Community Christmas Dinner. The free event will be held from 11 AM to 3 PM Enjoy a fully cooked meal of ham, turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, and dessert, all at no cost.
