Lavender Celebration Honors LGBTQIA+ Graduates with Pride and Joy
5/28/2025
On May 16, Mt. San Jacinto College proudly hosted its third annual Lavender Celebration,
a heartfelt and inspiring event dedicated to honoring the achievements of LGBTQIA+
graduates and transferring students.
Held in an atmosphere filled with love, resilience, and authenticity, the evening
celebrated the strength and brilliance of students who have persevered through challenges
and proudly brought their whole selves into every aspect of campus life.
Dr. Roger Schultz, MSJC Superintendent/President, delivered inspiring remarks highlighting the event's significance, stating, “You are not just graduating—you are blazing a trail. You are paving the way for others who will see what’s possible because of what you’ve done.”
Throughout the evening, students were recognized not only for their academic accomplishments but also for the transformative impact they have had on the MSJC community. From student leadership to classroom contributions, their courage and presence have helped shape the college into a more inclusive, compassionate, and courageous institution.
The celebration served as a potent reminder that identity is a strength to be honored,
and every graduate was encouraged to carry that truth with pride as they move forward
into their next chapter.
Congratulations to all our Lavender Celebration honorees—you have made MSJC proud.
