MSJC Board Approves 2021-2022 Budget

The Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) Board of Trustees on Thursday adopted a $136,812,753 General Fund budget for 2021-2022. The unrestricted General Fund pays for operations, materials, supplies, salaries and benefits, among other things.

The District’s total budget of $425,319,513 includes the General Fund, Restricted Funds, and Auxiliary Funds for use in specific areas. The budget also includes funds for the Bond Project Fund Measure AA that voters approved in 2014. 

Highlights of the budget include: 

  • 13 new faculty members
  • 6 replacement faculty members due to retirements or resignations
  • 7 percent Board Reserve
  • Staff step and column increases
  • Increased operational expense for new facilities

Mt. San Jacinto College serves about 27,000 students annually in a district covering 1,700 square miles from the San Gorgonio Pass to Temecula, with campuses in San Jacinto, Menifee, Banning and Temecula.

MSJC awarded a record-breaking 3,848 degrees and certificates to 2,173 graduates in May 2021.
