MSJC Named One of the Nation’s Top Hispanic-Serving Community Colleges

Washington Monthly has recognized Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) as one of the nation's top two-year Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) in its newly released Best Colleges for Hispanic Students rankings. Among only 10 California community colleges to earn this distinction, MSJC stands out as a leader in advancing equity and opportunity for Hispanic students.
More than half of MSJC's student population identifies as Hispanic. The college first earned its official HSI designation in 2001 and has since grown into a hub for access, transfer, and career success for students across the Inland Empire.
The Best Colleges for Hispanic Students ranking combines Washington Monthly's emphasis on social mobility with decades of research from Excelencia in Education. This Washington D.C based non-profit evaluates how well colleges serve Hispanic students, measuring outcomes such as transfer and graduation rates—key indicators of institutional support and student achievement.
