Career Counseling

The career planning process typically begins with scheduling an appointment with a counselor to discuss future goals and options. Counselors:

  • Provide assistance to students in evaluating their interests, talents, and personality to develop academic and career goals.
  • Provide students information on current and future employment trends.
  • Help students develop effective models for making career decisions and setting goals.

It may be helpful to consider taking an interest inventory or assessment of personality preferences when making a decision about choosing a career. The results of these career assessments are used as the basis for career exploration and counseling. See also: additional career planning resources.
